Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

These terms are written in plain English. By using Plottr — whether as a host or a guest — you agree to them. If something isn't clear, email us at contact@plottr.uk.

What Plottr does

Plottr is a marketplace platform that connects landowners ("hosts") with people looking to hire private outdoor space ("guests"). We facilitate the connection and handle payments — but we are not the landowner, and we are not a party to the agreement between host and guest.

Plottr operates at plottr.uk and is based in the United Kingdom.

Creating an account

You must be at least 18 years old to use Plottr. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. If you think your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at contact@plottr.uk.

You agree to provide accurate information when registering. We reserve the right to suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms.

For hosts — listing your land

As a host, you are responsible for:

  • Ensuring you have the legal right to hire out the land (ownership or appropriate tenancy/permission)
  • Accurately describing the space, including any restrictions, hazards, or limitations
  • Keeping your listing availability up to date
  • Having appropriate public liability insurance in place before guests arrive
  • Complying with all relevant UK laws, planning permissions, and local regulations
  • Ensuring the space is safe and accessible as described

Plottr does not verify land ownership or insurance. You list at your own responsibility.

For guests — making a booking

As a guest, you are responsible for:

  • Reading the listing description, rules, and cancellation policy carefully before booking
  • Using the space only for the purpose described in the listing
  • Respecting the host's land, property, and any neighbours
  • Leaving the space in the condition you found it
  • Complying with any rules set by the host
  • Ensuring you have appropriate insurance for your activities if required

Bookings and payments

When you make a booking, you enter into an agreement directly with the host. Plottr processes the payment securely on the host's behalf via Stripe.

Full payment is taken at the time of booking. The host receives their payout after the booking is confirmed, minus the Plottr commission (see below). Plottr does not charge guests any booking fees — the price you see is the price you pay.

Plottr's commission

Plottr charges hosts a commission of 10% of the booking value. This is deducted from the host payout — guests are never charged a platform fee. There is no upfront cost to list on Plottr.

Example: a £200 booking → host receives £180, Plottr retains £20.

Cancellations and refunds

Our standard cancellation policy is:

  • 7 or more days before the booking start: full refund to the guest
  • 2–6 days before: 50% refund to the guest
  • Less than 48 hours before: no refund

The Plottr commission is non-refundable once a booking is confirmed. In exceptional circumstances (e.g. the host cancels), we will issue a full refund. If you believe a refund is warranted outside this policy, contact us and we will review it on a case-by-case basis.

Prohibited uses

You may not use Plottr to:

  • List or book space for illegal activities
  • Provide false or misleading information about a listing
  • Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
  • Circumvent Plottr's payment system by arranging direct payment with a host or guest you met through the platform
  • Scrape, copy, or reproduce content from the platform without permission

Plottr's liability

Plottr is a marketplace and is not liable for:

  • The condition, safety, or legality of any listed property
  • Any disputes between hosts and guests
  • Loss, injury, or damage arising from use of a listed space

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Plottr's liability is limited to the value of the booking fee paid.

Changes to the service

We may update the platform, change features, or modify these terms at any time. We will give reasonable notice of significant changes. Continued use of Plottr after changes constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
